How do I get started with Like My Own Pet Services?
To get started you can call or text me at 813-344-2836, email me or fill out the contact form.
I will contact you within 48 hours and arrange a convenient time to meet to discuss your needs and my services.
What is a meet and greet?
The meet and greet is the first step to starting pet sitting or dog walking services where we get to know you and your pet before services begin. This allows us to understand routines, behavior, and care instructions so your pet receives safe, personalized care from day one. During this visit we will also review house access details and special instructions.
FAQs
How is Like My Own's in home pet sitting different?
My in home pet sitting fees cover a full 24 hours. This includes walks/playtime during the day - no need to add additional fees/services. My goal is to make sure your pets are happy and secure when you are gone.
What happens during inclement weather?
Your pet’s safety is top priority. In the event of extreme weather, I may modify the time spent outdoors and play inside with them for the remainder of the visit. If you leave a towel I can clean muddy/dirty paws and floors!
During serious weather (such as tropical storms, hurricanes or tornado warnings) that may pose any danger to your pet I reserve the right to cancel. I will communicate with you during this time.

Policies
Scheduling Policy
There is no such thing as booking a service “too early!” Call or text me at 813-344-2836 to schedule. I am happy to accept last-minute requests when the schedule can accommodate. Requests made after 3pm the day before will incur an additional flat fee of $10.

In home/overnight pet sitting

When you book overnight sitting my time is reserved specifically for your pets only

A 50% deposit is required at booking

Deposit is refundable if cancelled 7 days prior to start of service

Less than 7 days notice, deposit is forfeited

Emergency Care Policy
In the event of pet illness or other medical emergency I will contact you and/or your emergency contact. If both you and your emergency contact are unavailable Like My Own Pet Services reserves the right to seek medical care for your pet. If your vet is unavailable pets will be taken to the nearest emergency vet. Like My Own has permission to authorize any care that the vet deems necessary for pet’s health, safety and survival. Client agrees to reimburse Like My Own Pet Services for any additional fees and all costs relating to vet care during their absence, which may include x-rays, blood work, surgery and/or other expensive procedures.
Client also needs to have a credit card on file with their veterinary clinic and make sure the emergency contact is aware they are able to make decisions with the Client’s home and pet care in the Client’s absence.

Client authorizes Like My Own Pet Services to take photos of Client’s pet for their file and for business website/social media. All photos taken are the property of Like My Own Pet Services.

Client entrusts Like My Own Pet Services to use best judgment in caring for pet(s) and home, in the event of an emergency situation, inclement weather or natural disaster. Like My Own Pet Services will be held harmless for consequences related to such decisions.
